CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Pre-school Dance:  This fun filled 45 minute class is specifically designed for 3 & 4 year olds and is one of our most popular classes here at CDC.  Children will get a taste of tap, ballet, pre-jazz, song & dance, and tumbling.  We have a top quality program which utilizes props like tambourines, scarves, drums, and most importantly a child's imagination!

Hippity Hop New !!!:  This class is for 3 & 4 year olds. Children will get a taste of hip hop , creative dance and tumbling.

Combo Classes:  This class is for 5 & 6 year olds.  We incorporate ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling into this 1 hour exciting class.  We feel it is important for children to learn the fundamentals of all three of these forms of dance at an early age.  The entertaining class involves learning technique and rhythm, and will enable children to step into a world of creativity.

Tap,Jazz,Ballet /Tap & Hip Hop:  This class is for 7 & 8 year olds.  We offer two or three  types of dance in one class with some tumbling at the end.  This class entails learning the basic technique of the two or three types of dance you and your child choose to focus on.  This gives the child a taste of different types of dance, so that next year they can then focus on one type of dance in specific classes

Hip Hop:  Students will learn east and west coast hip hop in this high energy class.  Classes will focus on different varieties of hip hop including: b-boy, locking, popping, breakin, house, and more.  Hip Hop is quickly becoming one of the most popular classes!

Tap:  Tap classes at CDC are energetic and technique based.  Each and every class will focus on a new step!  Our routines and combinations will differ constantly to add variety.  Students will learn classical tap, hoofin, funky tap, and accapella to name a few!

Lyrical:  Lyrical is a combination of jazz and ballet technique set to slow music.  It is an interpretation of the lyrics of the music through movement.  We encourage all dancers to take at least one ballet class in combination with this class.

Jazz:  This class will focus on technique and flexability.  Students will learn a broad variety of jazz including:  Broadway jazz, west coast jazz, street jazz and much more!  We will also focus on strengthening and coordination.

Ballet:  Ballet is the foundation of all dance, and is by far, the most important class a student can take.  CDC focuses on and teaches the ballet technique of the Vaganova method.  We will focus on turnout, flexability and coordination.

Cheerdance:  Do you enjoy dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics?  If the answer is yes, then this is the class for YOU.  Learn cheer combos, hip hop combos, and tumbling in this class.  YOU do not want to miss it!

Zumba: Zumba combines Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves with a dynamic fitness program. It has been called the "Fitness Party"

Kettlebell training:Kettlebell workouts are intended to increase strength and endurance, agility and balance using what is known as a kettlebell weight.

Visiting Days:
Parents may observe classes on visiting days, usually held once during the school year.  Your instructor will notify you of these dates.  But we have recently installed observation windows for both studios and you are welcome to watch you child taking class.

Attendance:
As always, we want to stress to the parents and students, the importance of attending classes regularly.  Frequent absences are detrimental to the progress and development of the student.  If a student misses classes they are still required to pay for these classes.
